Job summary

Guidewire is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help transform the platform team from operations to modern engineering. You will design and develop software to improve reliability, performance, and operability of Guidewire’s cloud platform and InsuranceSuite products.

You will work across AWS, Kubernetes, Linux, databases, identity platforms, and distributed systems, building internal platforms, automation, and observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software development and task automation skills in Bash, Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Deep experience with Linux systems and production engineering.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing and automating solutions on AWS.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerized production environments (Docker, Helm, EKS).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Terragrunt, Terraspace).
• Experience with DevOps/GitOps tooling (Git, Bitbucket, Flux CD, TeamCity).
• Experience supporting production web apps built with Java/Apache/Tomcat.
• Experience operating complex microservice-based systems at scale.
• Strong observability/incident response knowledge (Datadog, CloudWatch, PagerDuty).
• Experience with relational databases (Aurora PostgreSQL, Oracle RDS).
• SSO/SAML/OAuth understanding; Okta a plus.
• Knowledge of PKI and X.509 concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and operate software and platform capabilities for resilient, multi-tenant SaaS systems.
• Apply software engineering and SRE practices to shared infrastructure and customer-centric environments.
• Build automation and developer tooling to improve deployment, operations, reliability, and engineering experience.
• Develop and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and GitOps.
• Engineer and improve containerized platforms with Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS.
