Job summary

Skillwell in Ireland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead modernization of a large .NET/AngularJS web app. You will drive the transition from a monolithic system to modular architectures, elevate CI/CD automation, and champion automated testing while mentoring the team.

You will collaborate with senior leaders, design pragmatic roadmaps, and deliver scalable backend features, ensuring performance and reliability across the platform.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of backend software engineering experience in C# and .NET.
• Proven refactoring of monoliths to modular architectures or microservices.
• Experience with CI/CD and test automation.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive Modernization Strategy: design and execute a roadmap to dismantle the .NET monolith and modernize the frontend to a contemporary framework.
• Extend the existing .NET application, focusing on stability, performance, and scalability of core platform.
• Establish CI/CD & DevOps practices; automate deployment pipelines and enable true continuous delivery.
• Pioneer test automation with unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; set up frameworks and templates for the team.
• Mentor and upskill engineers through pair programming and architecture workshops.
