Job summary

Global-e in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Logistics team. You will design and deliver core services behind our global logistics platform, building microservices with Scala, Kubernetes, and AWS to handle millions of transactions.

You'll work with cross-functional teams to implement robust distributed systems, drive innovation, and raise the technical bar across the organization. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and is based in our Dublin office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building large-scale, customer-facing applications in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience designing and operating resilient, fault-tolerant systems with high traffic.
• Hands-on experience with Agile, CI/CD, and rapid release cycles.
• Strong database skills for optimizing and scaling complex data interactions.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver High-Impact Features: Design, development, and deployment of new capabilities across logistics (fulfilment, labels, tracking) and order management workflows.
• Elevate Standards: Champion clean code, propose technical designs, best practices, and robust testing frameworks.
• Ensure Quality & Reliability: Verify systems with a rigorous approach to verification for stable, high-performing services.
• Move Fast with Confidence: Embrace rapid, iterative releases with CI/CD, monitoring, and efficient processes.
• Collaborate & Share Knowledge: Work with other engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Write Code in Scala: Contribute high-quality Scala code; prior Scala experience not required.

Requirements

You Have:

• 5+ Years of Experience: A proven track record building large-scale, customer-facing applications in a fast-paced environment (e-commerce, fintech, tech startups a plus).
• Distributed Systems Expertise: Familiarity with designing, deploying, and operating resilient, fault-tolerant systems that handle high traffic.
• Engineering Practices Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and rapid release cycles.
• Strong Database Skills: Ability to optimize and scale applications involving complex data interactions.
• Understanding and interest in cloud infrastructure.
