Job summary

MongoDB is seeking an exceptional Forward Deployed Engineer to join our hybrid team in Ireland. You will collaborate with Enterprise clients on application modernization, architecting scalable solutions and deploying tools across complex projects.

The role emphasizes POCs, tool development, and close work with Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap, with travel across Europe as needed. Strong Java or C# skills and Generative AI knowledge are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a field engineer, professional services consultant, or full-stack developer with enterprise clients.
• Proficiency in Java or C#, and familiarity with database access patterns and frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise-scale software architectures, development methodologies, and deployment/operations.
• Experience using relational databases and SQL with Oracle, MS SQL Server, Sybase or PostgreSQL.
• Experience using MongoDB and JSON-based document models is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to explore new tools and technologies to solve customer problems.
• Strong spoken and written communication; able to engage with customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to customer app modernization across the lifecycle: assessment, design, data modeling, code conversion, testing, and release.
• Test drive MongoDB migration products and provide concise feedback to engineering.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to influence the product roadmap.
• Execute POCs on client sites, developing or extending tooling for customer success.
• Maintain broad technical understanding of product lines and underlying tech.
• Join a delivery team with consulting engineers, project managers, and account teams.
• Assist sales in evaluating opportunities with prospects and customers.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers; 7 days per month, within Europe.
