Job summary

Learnosity AI Labs in Dublin is hiring Backend focused Full Stack Engineers to help deliver AI-driven educational products. You will design, build, and scale software across the stack, collaborating with stakeholders from leadership to product teams, in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

We’re looking for Backend focused Full Stack Engineers to join our team and help bring our AI product roadmap to fruition. If you:

• Are passionate about using technology to have a massive impact in Education, and are excited about using AI to accelerate that mission.
• Are eager to use innovative approaches to AI to find ways to answer the hard questions in education
• Are eager to work with stakeholders across the business, from our CEO to key stakeholders in our product organization, to get things done
• Know how to build and architect software to get from zero to released
• Have a keen eye for how to prove out complex functionality with real data, and how to tweak and tune to get the best results
• Are always eager to roll up your sleeves and dig in at all stages of the software and product lifecycle - from high level ideation, to working through user stories with the teams to get the product into the hands of users
• Understand the flexibility needed to release product in the fastest-changing technology landscape that we’ve ever seen before

Core Goals and Responsibilities

• Design, implement, modify, and support the development of software for
• Learnosity’s AI Labs
• Assist in task planning, estimation, and scheduling, work closely with other teams and management to deliver projects from inception to completion, and ensure documentation is kept up to date.
• Determine root cause for complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.

Experience and Skills

Must have

• An understanding and experience with agile frameworks and practices.
• Good problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Experience working with Python on web frameworks (minimum of 8 years).
• Experience with various database technologies (relational, nosql, document‑oriented, etc) and query concepts in high performance environments
• Experience writing unit and integration tests
• Great knowledge of design patterns and back end architecture best practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences.

It would be great if you had:

• B.Sc or M.Sc degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar
• Commercial experience with AI tools and concepts, including machine learning and large language models
• Experience with Data Warehousing techniques and technologies such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, and dimensional modeling concepts like Star and Snowflake schemas
• Experience working with large volumes of data in S3 and Parquet
• Experience with handling, processing, and filtering large volumes of data such as high-volume stream ingestion with Amazon Kinesis, distributed batch processing using Amazon EMR and AWS Glue, and query optimization on petabyte-scale data in Amazon Redshift and Amazon Athena
• Experience with Docker
• Experience with Frontend technologies, especially ReactJS and ShadCN
• Experience of TDD
• Experience of Spec Driven Development
• Experience setting up or configuring CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in a startup environment (we are not a startup but are looking for our AI Labs teams to have a startup mindset)
