Job summary

Penta Consulting is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support software that automates Kubernetes-based managed services and SaaS platforms. You will build Kubernetes Operators and APIs with Go, automate provisioning and upgrades, and advance platform reliability and security.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software/platform engineering, deep Kubernetes expertise, and hands-on Go development.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Software/Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Infra automation.
• Hands-on Go development experience.
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge: Operators, Controllers, CRDs, RBAC, controller-runtime.
• Experience supporting production Kubernetes environments.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Helm, GitOps, and IaC.
• Linux, containers, networking, storage, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes Operators, controllers, CRDs, and APIs using Go.
• Develop automation for provisioning, upgrades, scaling, recovery, and lifecycle management of platform services.
• Build scalable Kubernetes-native solutions following best practices.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and release processes.
• Collaborate with Platform Eng, SRE, Cloud Ops to implement automation and standards.
• Improve observability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership and reviews.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in Go, Kubernetes, and platform automation to design, develop, and support software that automates Kubernetes-based managed services and SaaS platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes Operators, controllers, CRDs, and APIs using Go.
• Develop automation for provisioning, upgrades, scaling, recovery, and lifecycle management of platform services.
• Build reliable, secure, and scalable Kubernetes-native solutions following industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and release processes.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, SRE, Cloud Operations, and Architecture teams to implement platform standards and automation.
• Improve observability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership, design reviews, and engineering standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years' experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Automation.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Go (Golang).
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, including Operators, Controllers, CRDs, RBAC, and Controller Runtime patterns.
• Experience supporting production Kubernetes environments.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, automation, CI/CD, Helm, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Linux, containers, networking, storage, and Kubernetes troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.

Preferred Skills

• Operator SDK, client-go, controller-runtime.
• EKS, AKS, GKE, Rancher, or other enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
• Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor.
• Kubernetes security, policy-as-code, service mesh technologies, and reliability engineering practices.
