Job summary

Beaumont Hospital in Dublin 9 seeks a Senior Speech & Language Therapist to lead the SLT service for medical oncology. You will work with inpatients and outpatients, managing both communication and swallowing disorders and providing clinical leadership within the SLT team.

The role offers a salary scale from €65,197 to €76,767 and is based on Government pay policy, with strong support for CPD and professional development within a leading teaching hospital.

Qualifications

• CORU registration is mandatory.
• At least 3 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience relevant to the clinical area.
• Competency in tracheostomy care and instrumental swallowing assessment.
• Membership of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IA SLT)
• Knowledge of the Irish healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive service to medical oncology patients including assessment and rehabilitation for communication and swallowing disorders.
• Collaborate with other SLTs in the clinical area to ensure seamless service.
• Develop and maintain competency in required clinical areas, including tracheostomy management.
• Contribute to a person-centred care environment and accessible interactions and environments.
• Liaise with MDT and other departments to integrate cancer services and ensure quality care.
