Job summary

VETRO FiberMap, based in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to scale the global platform and deliver next-gen GIS fiber management software.

You will own reliability, observability, and automation across cloud infrastructure (AWS), CI/CD, and incident management, collaborating with Engineering, Product, Security, and Customer teams. Hybrid work at our Dublin Center of Excellence.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Geographic Information Science, or significant professional experience
• 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or a similar role
• Provisioning, deploying, and supporting highly available cloud-based infrastructure on AWS or similar platforms
• Applying DevOps and CI/CD practices in an Agile software development lifecycle
• Strong monitoring, logging, observability, and incident management knowledge
• Troubleshooting complex distributed systems across applications, databases, networks, and infrastructure
• Strong scripting or Agile software engineering skills (Python, Bash); PostgreSQL / PostGIS familiarity
• Data and systems security, SOC 2 compliance knowledge

Responsibilities

• Establish and improve SLIs/SLOs, monitoring, alerting, and platform health
• Build, operate, and optimize scalable cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code
• Ensure observability to understand performance, failures, dependencies, and customer impact
• Improve detection, response, root-cause analysis, postmortems, and on-call procedures
• Automate deployments, remediation, infrastructure management, and capacity planning
• Identify bottlenecks and improve performance of applications, databases, and networks
• Design and develop platform tools to empower engineers with CI/CD, tooling, and self-service
• Apply security best practices and coordinate with Security team on audits and DR
• Use AI/automation to accelerate troubleshooting and reduce operational toil
• Monitor cloud utilization and ensure cost-effective infrastructure
