Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Proven experience as a software engineer with Python/Go/Java.
• Experience operating and improving production systems in an SRE capacity.
• Strong distributed systems debugging across services and pipelines.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud computing services.
• Familiarity with observability toolchains (Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Jaeger).
• Ability to lead technically, set direction, and improve engineering standards.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder influence.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive continuous improvement of reliability, monitoring, and alerting across services.
• Define service-level indicators, objectives, error budgets, and reliability scorecards.
• Reduce toil by building automation and self-healing tooling.
• Lead performance engineering and capacity planning, including load testing and scaling plans.
• Establish resiliency patterns like graceful degradation and retries.
• Set technical direction for observability, alerting, automation, and SRE practices.
• Provide hands-on implementation for high-impact work while growing team capability.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and platform teams on reliability priorities.
• Mentor SREs with technical guidance and development goals.
• Promote AI-assisted engineering practices with safe usage patterns.
