Job summary

St. Michael’s House is seeking a Service Manager for Children’s Services.

The role carries senior leadership and accountability for delivering high‑quality, person‑centred services across residential, community and supports, aligned to HIQA and statutory requirements. The Service Manager will lead a large, interdisciplinary team, drive performance, governance and budget management, and report to the Director of Children’s Services.

Qualifications

• A relevant Level 8 professional qualification in a Health and Social Care profession or Nursing.
• A minimum of 60 credits in a recognised management qualification OR a minimum of 10 years’ relevant management experience.
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant health, management or business discipline at Level 9 or equivalent.
• Minimum five years’ post-qualification experience, at least three in intellectual disability management.
• Substantial operational management experience within health or social care.
• Track record of leading service improvement, change or transformation initiatives.
• CPD and maintenance of a professional portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Senior leadership and management responsibility for operational delivery of services.
• Direct governance, financial oversight and workforce management within budget.
• Ensure HIQA standards, legislation and policies are met.
• Lead nursing and multidisciplinary teams in a complex organisation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for positive outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement, safety, and person-centred practice.
