Job summary

Partner Company in Ireland is seeking a Staff Security Operations Engineer to bolster security for critical infrastructure and open-source ecosystems. The role blends hands-on cyber defense, security architecture, threat intelligence, risk management, and incident response within a globally distributed setting.

You will design, implement, and evolve security operations practices, tooling, and policies; lead tabletop exercises; develop learning materials; and communicate risks to leadership while

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, STEM or equivalent professional background.
• Strong interest in cybersecurity and security technology.
• Experience with threat modelling and risk management frameworks.
• Knowledge of security architecture and modern tools.
• Experience consuming threat intelligence feeds.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF and ISO 27001.
• Proven ability to deliver in technically demanding environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: experience in SOC and hands-on defense.
• Preferred: experience defending against advanced threats.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evolve security operations standards, playbooks, and practices.
• Analyze and improve security architecture and development processes.
• Evaluate, deploy, and improve security tools and practices.
• Identify, investigate, contain, and remediate threats and attacks.
• Apply threat modelling and risk management to identify vulnerabilities.
• Lead tabletop exercises and security operations activities.
• Develop security learning materials to strengthen capabilities.
• Monitor security KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to open-source threat intelligence initiatives.
• Develop thought leadership through technical publications and events.
• Collaborate with security leadership to communicate risks and drive improvements.
• Plan and deliver security operations initiatives in an agile environment.
