Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Principal Security Engineer to act as a trusted advisor to developers, delivering hands-on support to weave security into the development lifecycle. The role emphasizes threat modeling, governance, and building practical, developer-centric security practices at scale.

You’ll lead by example, combining deep technical expertise with coaching to drive adoption of secure design across Mastercard’s engineering community.

Qualifications

• Senior security practitioner with hands-on threat modeling and secure software design.
• Experience enabling developers and architects to adopt secure practices.
• Strong coaching and communication skills; ability to scale security across teams.

Responsibilities

• Create scalable threat modeling collateral and templates.
• Evolve threat modeling methodologies.
• Establish governance for secure, high-quality outcomes.
• Design and deliver learning programs to help engineers/app architects apply threat modeling in day-to-day work.
