Job summary

John Paul Construction Limited is seeking a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to oversee HV/EHV switching, isolation, and network activities on site. You will issue safety documentation and lead fault response, commissioning, maintenance and outage work to ensure safe, reliable network operation.

The role requires a current SAP, extensive HV experience, strong safety knowledge, and the ability to guide staff and contractors.

Qualifications

Current Senior Authorised Person (SAP) certification.
Significant experience operating and maintaining HV electrical systems.
Strong understanding of electrical safety rules and network operations.
Experience in commissioning, maintenance, fault response, and outage management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Relevant electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent).
Full driving licence and willingness to travel to operational sites as required.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and carry out HV/EHV switching operations, isolations, and network activities.
Issue and manage safety documentation including Permits to Work and Sanctions for Test.
Lead fault response, commissioning, maintenance, and outage activities.
Supervise and provide technical guidance to operational staff and contractors.
Conduct risk assessments, approve switching schedules and maintain records.
