Job summary

Global Commissioning is seeking a Senior Authorised Person - Electrical (SAP) to lead safe control of hazardous energy and govern electrical Safe Systems of Work across data centres and high-risk facilities.

The SAP will coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams, vendors, client stakeholders and safety teams to plan, execute, and reinstate electrical activities safely and compliantly, including RAMS reviews, LOTO, and lockout switching.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on electrical qualification.
• CSCS / Safe Pass.
• SMSTS or SSSTS.
• Appropriate HV Authorised Person/Senior Authorised Person certification or demonstrable experience operating under an electrical safety rules system.
• Desirable: HNC/HND/BEng in Electrical Engineering; IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications; certified Electrical AP/SAP training.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Senior Authorised Person for electrical systems, managing and enforcing Safe Systems of Work.
• Implement and control electrical isolations, LOTO, switching operations, proving dead procedures, testing, and safe reinstatement.
• Issue, manage, suspend, and cancel Electrical Permits to Work and associated safety documentation.
• Review and approve RAMS for electrical works and plan HV/MV/LV switching activities.
• Oversee pre-functional testing, energisation, protection testing, and commissioning readiness.
