Job summary

Conack, one of Ireland’s fastest-growing construction companies, seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major pharmaceutical project in Athlone. You will be responsible for the commercial management of key work packages, cost control, procurement, subcontract administration and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• 5+ years post-graduate experience in Quantity Surveying within construction.
• Experience with main contractors is highly desirable.
• Proven track record: subcontract packages, procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Solid knowledge of contracts and commercial management principles.
• Strong numerical, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and financial aspects of key project packages.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, valuations and payment applications.
• Lead procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including tender analysis.
• Prepare and administer subcontract documentation and accounts.
• Monitor expenditure against budgets and forecasts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Produce monthly commercial reports for senior management.
• Support cash-flow forecasting and project financial planning.
• Mentor junior commercial team members and contribute to tender submissions.
