Job summary

Conack, one of Ireland’s fastest-growing construction companies, is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on a major pharmaceutical project based in Athlone.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor at the early stages of their career to gain hands-on experience on a high-profile pharma project, working alongside experienced Commercial Managers and Senior Quantity Surveyors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline is required.
• 1–3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role or relevant industry placement.
• Strong commercial awareness and numerical skills.
• Good understanding of construction contracts and cost management principles.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial team with the financial management of a major pharmaceutical project.
• Assist in preparing cost reports, valuations, and payment applications.
• Help procure subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
• Measure and value subcontractor works.
• Assist with the preparation and agreement of variations and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and support budget control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Site Teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Support tender submissions and commercial reporting where required.
• Gain exposure to the commercial management of a technically complex, high-value construction project.
