Job summary

Conack in Athlone is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major pharmaceutical construction project. This role offers hands-on experience under experienced managers on a high-profile project.

You will support cost management, prepare reports, assist with procurement, measure subcontractor works, and help with variations and final accounts. Ideal candidates hold a degree in QS or related field and have 1–3 years of experience in QS roles, with strong numeracy and

Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
1–3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role or relevant industry placement.
Strong commercial awareness and numerical skills.
Good understanding of construction contracts and cost management principles.

Responsibilities

Support the commercial team with the financial management of a major pharmaceutical project.
Assist in preparing cost reports, valuations, and payment applications.
Help procure subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
Measure and value subcontractor works.
Assist with the preparation and agreement of variations and final accounts.
Monitor project costs and support budget control throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
Liaise with Project Managers, Site Teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
Support tender submissions and commercial reporting where required.
Gain exposure to the commercial management of a technically complex, high‑value construction project.
