Job summary

O’Neill & Brennan is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Galway team. You will lead cost control, commercial reporting, and financial management across multiple projects while mentoring junior surveyors.

Manage contract documentation and procurement, evaluate tenders, and drive Variations/claims handling in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with site teams to align budgets with programme delivery, ensuring compliance with Irish regulations and ISO/IMS standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Construction or a related field.
• 5+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in main contracting.
• Experience in commercial management, contract administration and cost control.
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor account management and procurement.
• Understanding of Irish construction regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in Excel; Cubit, Procore and Asta are advantages.
• Excellent negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Overview:

Our client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in County Galway. The successful candidate will work closely with the commercial and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Lead cost control, commercial reporting, and financial management across multiple projects
• Support commercial leadership and contribute to strategic project decisions while mentoring junior surveyors
• Manage contract documentation (PWC, RIAI), subcontractor packages, and payment certifications
