Job summary

Brightpath Recruitment is assisting a leading Dublin-based construction client to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. The role leads commercial ownership on a major project in the Dublin region, driving cost control, reporting and strategic commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years' QS experience, ideally with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Irish contractor.
• Experience across residential, commercial or large-scale construction projects.
• Degree qualified, ideally with a BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Strong commercial management, cost control and financial reporting experience.
• Demonstrable experience managing the commercial aspects of major projects.
• Ability to operate independently within a senior project team.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong knowledge of QS software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the commercial management and reporting of the project.
• Monitor and manage project costs, budgets, forecasts and overall financial performance.
• Work independently while maintaining collaboration with the Managing Quantity Surveyor and wider project team.
• Manage key client, consultant, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear and effective communication.
• Prepare, review and manage commercial documentation, including valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Provide accurate and timely commercial reporting to support senior management decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with the wider project team to ensure successful commercial and operational delivery.
