Job summary

John Sisk and Son in Limerick is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the full commercial management of projects. You will work with the contracts manager and project team to safeguard entitlements and optimise financial performance.

The role includes ownership of the commercial strategy, procurement from tendering to final account, and management of risk, variations and disputes in line with NEC and JCT contracts.

Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial aspects of large construction projects.
• Ability to draft and negotiate subcontract agreements.
• Strong understanding of NEC and JCT contract conditions.
• Mentor junior quantity surveyors and lead commercial teams

Job description

John Sisk and Son is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Limerick with responsibility for the full commercial management of projects, working alongside the contracts manager, the project manager and the wider construction team.

The holder takes ownership of the commercial strategy and adapts it in consultation with the managing quantity surveyor, and represents the company in commercial and contractual matters so that entitlements are maintained and protected. Procurement sits with the role, from the preparation of tenders and the selection of subcontractors through order placement to final account.

Financial forecasts, cash flow projections, reconciliations and valuations are prepared and presented, variations agreed with accurate supporting records, and final accounts produced and agreed in good time. The advert names traditional and design and build contracts and a project value band of five to fifteen million euro.

Risk and opportunity registers are maintained and updated, and the post manages claims and disputes, including the preparation of records, the formulation of arguments and representation to stakeholders.
