Job summary

Vision Contracting Ltd in Ireland seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage financial and contractual aspects of construction projects from budgeting through to completion. This role requires strong cost control, tender evaluation, and collaboration with clients and supply chains on site in County Cork.

You will lead budgeting, cost analysis, and value engineering opportunities, while ensuring regulatory compliance and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience with cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with procurement and contracts in construction.

Job Summary

The Intermediate Quantity Surveyor manages the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring delivery within budget, on time, and to quality standards. This role involves preparing budgets, conducting cost analysis, and evaluating tender submissions, as well as negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.

The Intermediate Quantity Surveyor collaborates with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to provide financial oversight, resolve cost-related issues, and identify value engineering opportunities. They monitor project finances, manage risks, and ensure compliance with regulations and contractual obligations. With strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to meeting deadlines, the Intermediate QS plays a key role in the successful execution of construction projects while further developing their expertise.

Key Activities

• Preparing and reviewing project budgets, estimates, and cost plans to ensure financial accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
• Conducting detailed cost analysis and benchmarking against industry standards to evaluate project feasibility and identify cost efficiencies.
• Negotiating pricing and contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favourable terms and maintain budgetary control.
• Preparing tender documentation, issuing invitations to bid, and evaluating submissions to select the most suitable contractors or suppliers.
• Tracking expenses and maintaining detailed cost records, generating progress reports to monitor budget performance.
• Identifying potential cost savings opportunities and recommending value engineering solutions to enhance project efficiency.
• Liaising with stakeholders, including project managers, site teams, and clients, to provide updates and address financial or contractual concerns.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assisting in the management of variations, claims, and contractual disputes to minimize financial risks.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project delivery while maintaining financial oversight.
