Job summary

IT Search in Ireland is recruiting a Senior QA Engineer for a financial organisation. This is a hands-on role focused on data validation, SQL, ETL testing, and automation with AI-enabled tools across Europe.

You will own the QA lifecycle end-to-end, work with developers, business analysts, and production support to ensure compliant regulatory reporting, with a 6‑month contract and a 3 onsite/2 remote schedule.

Job description

A financial organisation we support is seeking an enthusiastic, self-sufficient Senior QA Engineer to support their strategic financial and regulatory reporting platforms. The team provides critical solutions and support for business users across Europe, partnering closely with technology groups across the globe.

To be clear: this is not a passive manual testing role. We are looking for a proactive, tech-savvy QA Engineer who is deeply hands‑on with data validation (heavy SQL and ETL/Data Migration testing), test automation, and modern AI-enabled testing tools. You will take end‑to‑end ownership of the QA lifecycle—working directly with developers, business analysts, and production support teams to ensure our regulatory deliverables are accurate, timely, and compliant across global time zones.

*6 month contract to start with but expected to roll/extend

* 3 days onsite per week, 2 days at home

*Daily Rate: 600-800 depending on experience level

Responsibilities

• Lead test planning, preparation, script design, Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) creation, defect management, and execution across both Agile and Waterfall release cycles.
• Perform deep E2E ETL testing, data migration validation, data conversion testing, and rigorous data quality checks across complex finance data pipelines.
• Drive test automation initiatives and leverage Generative AI tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate test case generation, execution, and automation framework maintenance.
• Partner actively with Development, Test Leads, Production Support, and Change Management teams across global regions to drive releases safely into Production.
• Proactively identify, report, and manage defects, dependencies, and risks associated with large-scale, complex regulatory finance programs.

Experience

• At least 5+ years of hands‑on QA experience with very strong SQL query writing skills, E2E ETL testing, and data conversion/migration validation.
• Hands‑on familiarity with Unix/Linux commands for log checking and backend verification.
• Experience using enterprise test management tools (e.g., Octane) alongside hands‑on exposure to test automation tools/frameworks (preferred: Playwright, Tosca).
• Hands‑on exposure to Generative AI tools and AI agents to enhance test generation and code efficiency (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
• Practical experience applying structured test design techniques within Agile SDLC environments.

Preferred Experience

• Domain Exposure: Prior experience within Banking, Financial Services, or Regulatory Finance platforms.
