Job summary

Motorola Solutions Ireland Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join an Agile Scrum team. You will develop containerized Linux user-space Python services, interface with existing C/C++ subsystems, and leverage AI tools to accelerate development in a mission-critical RF/LMR environment.

You will work with Linux networking fundamentals, participate in automated testing, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an on-site lab setting.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python for software development.
• Solid understanding of Linux OS concepts and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with containerization platforms and automated testing.
• Ability to read, interface with, and debug C/C++ codebases.
• Exposure to AI/ML tools or integration of AI APIs is a plus.
• Familiarity with RF / Telecommunications / LMR systems.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and static code analysis.
• Git and Jira for version control and task management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Linux user-space Python services in containerized environments.
• Interface with and debug legacy C/C++ subsystems within RF/LMR context.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering workflows.
• Develop networking applications using sockets and TCP/IP/UDP protocols in Linux.
• Expand unit, integration, and end-to-end testing ecosystems.
• Contribute to automated build pipelines and enforce code quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in hands-on RF lab testing.
