Job summary

CPL is seeking Senior Python Software Engineers to join the Risk & Finance Technology team for a global investment bank. Hybrid Dublin work, long-term contract, day rate negotiable. Front-end exposure desired alongside strong back-end Python delivery.

You will build efficient back-end features in Python, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure code quality with testing and performance optimisations. Mentoring juniors and driving technical leadership are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python programming (syntax, data structures, OOP).
• Experience with Python frameworks (SQLAlchemy, Django, Flask, Bottle).
• AWS and REST API integration experience.
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQL Server).
• CI/CD with Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible.
• JavaScript knowledge.
• Agile project management experience.
• Performance optimisation and profiling skills.
• Software testing methodologies: unit, integration and E2E.

Responsibilities

• Build efficient back-end features in Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into specs.
• Write clean, efficient, reusable code and follow standards.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement designs.
• Implement software enhancements and suggest improvements.
• Coach junior team members and provide technical leadership.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize application performance.
