Job summary

SimoTech in Cork, Ireland, seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead full lifecycle delivery of major capital investments in a GMP environment.

You will drive safety, quality, on-time and on-budget execution of manufacturing, cleanroom, utilities and infrastructure projects, coordinating with Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance.

The role may involve international travel up to 20-30%, including weekends and multi-week stays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Process, Chemical, or Mechanical) with Master’s preferred.
• 15+ years delivering large scale capital projects in pharma/biotech or regulated life sciences.
• PMP or Prince2 certification highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as main contact for capital investments, leading external partners and ensuring safety, GMP, quality, cost and schedule.
• Lead full project lifecycle from concept to handover to operations.
• Manage medium to large capital projects in GMP manufacturing environments.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, cost forecasts, risk registers and governance.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, GxP, EHS, Lean and engineering standards.

SimoTech have an opportunity for an experiencedSenior Project Manager to work with a leadingmultinational Biopharma client based in Cork, Ireland.

The Senior Project Manager will beresponsible for the full lifecycle delivery of major capital investmentprojects within a GMP environment, ensuring safe, on time, and on budgetexecution of complex manufacturing, cleanroom, utilities, and infrastructureworks in full regulatory compliance, while working closely with a variety ofbusiness units from Engineering, to Supply Chain and Finance.

Thisrole presents the potential opportunity for international travel of up to 20-30%,which may include weekends and multi week stays.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Act as main point of contact for capital investments leading externalpartners and ensuring delivery to safety, GMP, quality, cost, and schedulestandards.
  
• Lead the full projectlifecycle from concept, feasibility, and business case development throughdetailed design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and handover tooperations
  
• Manage medium andlarge-scale capital projects within pharmaceutical GMP manufacturingenvironments
  
• Develop and maintain accurateproject plans, schedules, cost forecasts, risk registers, and governancestructures
  
• Ensure compliance withcGMP, GxP, EHS, Lean and corporate engineering standards throughout projectexecution
  
• Lead and coordinatemulti-disciplinary project teams including engineering, quality, validation,operations, procurement, and external partners
  
• Lead contractor andsupplier management including selection, contract negotiation, performancemanagement, and change
  
• Drive rigorous costcontrol, from estimation to management, change management, and risk mitigationto meet approved investment objectives and operational cash flow requirements
  
• Drive stage gate reviews ofprojects in planning and execution phases to ensure strategy, timelines,sequences, resources are optimised for successful project delivery
  
• Interface with regulatoryand quality organizations to support inspections, audits, and regulatorysubmissions as required
  
• Ensure safe execution ofworks through strong health & safety leadership and application ofbest-in-class safety practices
  
• Provide concise,decision-focused reporting to senior leadership and investment governanceforums, clearly articulating risks, trade-offs, and mitigation strategies.
  
• Support long term capitalplanning and strategic manufacturing footprint initiatives
  

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree inengineering (Process, Chemical, or Mechanical); Master’s degree ideally
  
• Over 15 years ofexperience delivering large scale capital projects within the pharmaceutical,biotechnology, or regulated life sciences industry
  
• Professional ProjectManagement certification (Eg:PMP, Prince2,) highly preferred
  
• Experience in small andlarge molecule API manufacturing is preferred
  
• Demonstrated trackrecord delivering multiple large-scale pharmaceutical capital projects,including at least one project or program exceeding $25M in value.
  
• Strong knowledge ofcGMP, GxP, cleanroom design, pharmaceutical utilities, and validationprinciples
  
• Demonstrated leadershipof large, cross-functional and multicultural project teams
  
• Extensive experienceworking with external vendors and complex supply chains
  
• Advanced projectmanagement skills including cost control, scheduling, risk management, andgovernance
  
• Excellent stakeholdermanagement, communication, and executive reporting capabilities.
