Job summary

EL Engineering Consultants Ltd is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead high-value, multidisciplinary projects across pharma and medical devices, from concept to completion. You will drive governance, client development and mentor a growing PM team, reporting to the PMO Manager.

The role demands credibility, commercial discipline, and the ability to balance stakeholder interests while delivering sustainable business growth in Ireland.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience leading complex projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required).
• PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng MIEI) strongly preferred.
• Membership in Engineers Ireland, PMI, CIOB or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract negotiations and risk allocation planning.
• Oversee portfolio-level financial performance.

Role Overview

The Senior Project Manager leads complex, high-value, or multidisciplinary projects and contributes to strategic business growth. This role extends beyond delivery to include governance leadership, client development, and mentorship of emerging talent. This role suits a senior professional who leads with credibility, demonstrates commercial discipline, and strengthens teams through respect, ambition, and sustained effort.

Scope & Accountability

• Define project and programme delivery strategies


• Lead contract negotiations and risk allocation planning


• Oversee portfolio-level financial performance


• Strengthen governance standards and advanced knowledge of PM frameworks


• Leads proposals, develops client growth strategies, and identifies new market opportunities.

• Brings advanced expertise in commercial strategy, procurement frameworks, and regulatory environments in Ireland.


• Demonstrates strong financial acumen and strategic thinking.


• Leads multi-disciplinary teams, develops talent strategy, and shapes PM best practices within the consultancy


• Resolves highly complex, ambiguous, and commercially sensitive challenges.


• Balances stakeholder interests while protecting long-term business sustainability.


• Demonstrates innovation, commercial judgment, and cross-functional alignment.

Supervision

• High degree of autonomy with influence at senior leadership level


• Shapes project governance and contributes to organisational strategy.

Expected Contribution

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)


• 8+ years' experience including complex project leadership


• PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner
