Job summary

NES Fircroft seeks an experienced Automation Project Manager to lead the automation scope for a major laboratory expansion in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment. You will own automation activities from design through commissioning, qualification, and handover.

You will interface with site stakeholders, engineering partners, vendors, and automation SMEs to ensure delivery on time and to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering automation projects within pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries.
• Strong technical expertise in PLC/SCADA systems, instrumentation, controls, BMS, and IT/OT integration.
• Experience integrating OEM/vendor equipment into established manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of GMP commissioning, FAT/SAT, CSV, IQ/OQ, and qualification processes.
• Strong stakeholder, vendor, and multidisciplinary team management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation and controls activities across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate I/O lists, instrumentation requirements, tag management, and automation deliverables.
• Review P&IDs, A&IDs, functional specifications, control narratives, and automation design documentation.
• Manage automation integration for laboratory equipment including autoclaves, isolators, incubators, and parts/glass washers.
• Coordinate interfaces between PLC, SCADA, BMS, Historian, and IT/OT systems.
• Drive FAT, SAT, commissioning, IQ/OQ, and qualification activities.
• Manage technical risks, vendor deliverables, stakeholder engagement, and project actions.
• Ensure GMP, validation, quality, and safety requirements.

Our client is seeking an experienced Automation Project Manager to lead the automation scope for a major laboratory expansion project within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

This position will take ownership of automation activities from design through commissioning, qualification, and handover, acting as the key interface between site stakeholders, engineering partners, vendors, and automation SMEs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead automation and controls activities across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate I/O lists, instrumentation requirements, tag management, and automation deliverables.
• Review P&IDs, A&IDs, functional specifications, control narratives, and automation design documentation.
• Manage automation integration for laboratory equipment including autoclaves, isolators, incubators, and parts/glass washers.
