Job summary

PACE, a Dublin-based leader in infrastructure services, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of water projects across Ireland, from design through construction and budget control.

Reporting to the Infrastructure leadership, you will coordinate with clients, utilities, delivery partners and legal teams to manage contracts, governance, and multi-project capital programs while leading a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
• Chartered membership with a recognized body (e.g., Engineers Ireland, APM, CIOB).
• Minimum of 10 years overall experience, with at least 5 years supporting water utilities and capital projects.
• Proven hands-on experience administering NEC or FIDIC conditions of contract.
• Full driver's license advantageous for client office and site visits across Ireland.

Responsibilities

They are currently seeking a dynamic Senior Project Manager to join their expanding Dublin-based Infrastructure team.

The Role

The Senior Project Manager will oversee and drive the delivery of a diverse portfolio of water infrastructure projects across Ireland. Managing the full lifecycle—from design and procurement through to construction delivery and budget management—you will ensure all outcomes align strictly with project governance, schedules, and quality standards.

Reporting within the Infrastructure leadership team, you will serve as a core technical and operational lead. You will coordinate closely with clients, utility providers, delivery partners, and legal teams to navigate complex agreements and manage contracts (including NEC and FIDIC suites) to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Project & Portfolio Delivery: Manage diverse water sector projects across design, procurement, construction, and budget management stages in line with defined schedules.
• Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships across internal teams, client representatives, and external partners, ensuring transparent and regular communication.
• Utility & Contract Execution: Collaborate with utility partners to execute connection agreements and water contracts, liaising with legal counsel as required.
• Contract Administration: Lead the management and administration of standard construction contracts (including NEC and FIDIC suites), including processing applications for payment from delivery partners.
• Governance & Project Controls: Implement robust project controls covering risk registers, issue logs, schedules, and budgets while guiding projects through formal client governance gates.
• Strategic Problem Solving: Analyze complex technical issues, exercise strong professional judgment, and make key decisions to drive both mega-infrastructure projects and multi-project capital programs.
• Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor project team members to establish clear goals, promote team cohesion, and maintain high delivery standards.

Requirements

Required:

• Education: 3rd level qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• Professional Credentials: Professional chartership or membership with a recognized professional body (e.g., Engineers Ireland, APM, CIOB, or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years overall experience, with at least 5 years specifically supporting water utility clients and delivering capital infrastructure contracts.
• Contract Knowledge: Proven hands-on experience administering NEC or FIDIC conditions of contract.
• Flexibility: Full driver's license (advantageous for client office and site visits across Ireland).
• Capability: Demonstrated success managing large portfolios of simultaneous capital projects in a fast-paced environment.
