Lever, Inc. is seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer based in Ireland.

You will own core product surfaces from concept through production, blending product design judgment with design engineering to deliver accessible, production-ready frontend components. You'll work at the intersection of product design, frontend engineering, design systems, and interaction design, building a shared component library and shaping the design system for a globally used scheduling platform, in a remote-first,

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a product designer who evolved into design engineering and owns complex product areas from problem definition to launch.
• Strong frontend engineering skills in HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and React.
• Ability to turn concepts into polished, working implementations independently.
• Experience designing and engineering custom UI components/primitives, not just consuming libraries.
• Deep expertise in headless primitive composition; familiarity with Base UI/Radix; open-source component systems is a plus.
• Strong motion design judgment; familiarity with timing/easing/choreography.

Responsibilities

• Own core product surfaces from concept through production, including booking/scheduling experiences.
• Translate problems into high-quality designs, prototypes, and production-ready frontend components.
• Build/test prototypes with AI-assisted development tools to answer design questions.
• Deliver production-ready components with accessible semantics and full interaction states.
• Design and maintain custom components/primitives beyond third-party libraries.
• Improve the shared component library and design system with reusable primitives.
• Maintain tokens, spacing, states, dark mode, motion, and interaction patterns.
• Apply motion to clarify interactions without excess complexity.
• Own outcomes by defining success criteria and supporting implementation.
• Maintain high accessibility standards across all work.
• Collaborate with leadership, share work early, and incorporate feedback.
• Document design thinking and decisions for asynchronous collaboration.
