Job summary

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with suppliers by phone or in person to obtain best price for materials and services
• Assist internal and external customers by answering questions and solving problems within GMP, FDA, and travel/expense policies
• Implement cost-saving ideas to maximize efficiency of company funds
• Conduct supplier audits by visiting facilities and evaluating capabilities
• Monitor forecasts and inventory to ensure adequate supply and service levels
• Identify invoice discrepancies and resolve the issues with the appropriate departments
• Investigate non-conforming materials with production engineers and suppliers
• Maintain records of purchases, costs and delivery information for auditability
• Provide written data to departments and suppliers expressing company needs
• Process purchase requests by accessing databases and tracking orders
• Lead significant cost-saving initiatives as part of the role
