Job summary

Gardiner & Theobald LLP, Ireland, is seeking a Procurement Senior Associate to lead procurement and contract management across high‑value portfolios. You will provide strategic commercial input, supervise teams, and nurture client relationships at senior levels, while shaping procurement strategies and delivering quality outcomes.

You will combine hands-on delivery with strategic oversight, owning key client accounts and mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
• Full MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification.
• Substantial experience delivering complex procurement and contract management across the public and/or private sector.
• Deep understanding of procurement regulations and best practice, including public procurement frameworks.
• Experience managing teams and providing delivery assurance across multiple projects.
• Proven ability to build strong client relationships and act as a trusted strategic partner.
• Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills—comfortable operating with senior stakeholders.
• Track record of contributing to business growth, innovation and service development.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement and contract management delivery across complex portfolios and strategic frameworks.
• Provide senior-level commercial advice on regulatory compliance, risk allocation, and market engagement.
• Oversee procurement documentation, evaluation processes, governance checkpoints and contract award activities.
• Guide negotiations with suppliers and support the drafting of bespoke, NEC, JCT or hybrid contract forms.
• Lead mobilisation and transition planning for strategic contracts.
• Develop contract management plans, KPIs, dashboards and reporting processes.
• Provide strategic input to change control, performance management and dispute resolution.
• Identify and manage commercial risks across portfolios, ensuring controls are embedded.
