Job summary

Boston Scientific seeks a Process Technician II on a permanent basis to join our Clonmel site. The role involves maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment performance through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.

The shift for this position is rotation Days/Evenings with Night/Days shift from Jan 2027. You will diagnose faults, maintain CMMS records, and support RCA and continuous improvement while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure production

Qualifications

• NFQ level 6 STEM higher certificate/Trade Qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• SMT experience is a requirement.
• Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
• Understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in Medical Device, pharmaceutical, electronics, or other regulated manufacturing industries preferred.
• Experience with RCA, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Understanding of equipment reliability and preventive maintenance principles.
• Technical troubleshooting and maintenance expertise.
• Structured problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong compliance and documentation discipline.
• Safety awareness and risk management.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Accountability and ownership of assigned work.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment to support safe and reliable production operations.
• Independently diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system faults.
• Complete maintenance activities and documentation in accordance with site procedures, GMP requirements, and engineering standards.
• Accurately maintain maintenance records and work orders within the CMMS to support regulatory and audit requirements.
• Participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence of equipment failures.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and operational performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all safety procedures, identify hazards, and actively contribute to a strong safety culture.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Facilities, and external suppliers to resolve technical issues and support business objectives.
• Share technical knowledge, assist with onboarding and training activities, and support team capability development.
