Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Limerick, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Project / Process Automation Engineer to provide technical leadership for automation projects and process improvements on site.

The role focuses on developing automated manufacturing solutions, adhering to EH&S policies, GAMP 5 methodology, and good engineering practice to meet business goals. Expect extensive travel with a skilled team.

Qualifications

  • A mechanical, process, chemical engineering degree (or similar) with application experience (3+ years) within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
  • Project management experience within the field of high-speed automation, including vision systems, high-speed multi-axis motion control, machine smart controls, SCADA, MES and robotics
  • Ability to develop detailed project plans that acknowledge the risk associated with developing 1st of a kind solution
  • Experience of external supplier selection & management
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Working knowledge of GAMP 5 Process Validation requirements
  • Process Excellence (Six Sigma) practical experience
  • Experience of internal stakeholder management & communication Desirable
  • Working knowledge of Design for Manufacture & Design for Assembly methodology
  • Working towards chartered professional engineer or local equivalent
  • Previous working experience in technology development before either in an engineering function or R&D setting.
  • Experience working with external organisations, be that research entities or third-party equipment suppliers.

  • Support the early lifecycle management of capital projects: technical risk mitigation, requirements definition, supplier selection, supplier management, equipment design oversight, acceptance testing & installation
  • Help maintain time, quality & cost performance on assigned projects
  • Will be part of a highly skilled engineering team with an expectation to travel extensively, globally, to support the business
  • Will become a subject matter expert in one or more areas including controls/software design & development, process automation, computerized systems implementation process engineering, project management

Job Description

Position Title: Senior Project / Process Automation Engineer

Location: ATC offices on the University of Limerick campus

Reports too: Director, of Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide technical support & leadership in the development of new/existing products, processes/systems to drive manufacturing efficiency.

Serve as a project team member for automated manufacturing solutions, adhering to the environmental health and safety policies, GAMP 5 methodology and good engineering practice to achieve business objectives

The anticipated base pay range for this position is

€52,400.00 - €82,915.00

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
