Job summary

Novartis Ireland in Dublin seeks a Senior Principal Data Scientist within Medical Affairs Advanced Quantitative Sciences to lead data science methodologies on patient-level data across clinical development. You will combine biology/medicine knowledge with statistics to inform drug development decisions in collaboration with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in data science, biostatistics, or quantitative field.
• Experience in clinical drug development with exposure to clinical trials.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods and ML techniques.
• Proficient in R and Python with data visualization and predictive modeling.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, interpret and communicate exploratory analyses and algorithms.
• Provide technical expertise in data science/ML to influence decision making.
• Hands-on analysis of integrated clinical trial and real-world data.
• Translate questions into analytical problems and build solutions with visualization, ML, and modeling.
• Develop new algorithms and models for structured and unstructured data.
• Apply R-based statistical techniques to solve business problems.
• Develop data pipelines using AI, R, Python, Bash and SQL.
