Job summary

Medtronic seeks a Senior Principal Data Architect to lead enterprise-scale healthcare data platforms and interoperability initiatives within the Patient Care Systems ecosystem.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, security, privacy, and regulatory teams to define scalable data capabilities, architectures, and strategic direction, ensuring data exchange, analytics, and digital health solutions align with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline with 15+ years of software, data, or platform architecture experience.
• Experience troubleshooting data sets, formatting, and coding.
• Experience with relational database management systems, big data solutions, and distributed computing frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of platform as a service offerings and deployment best practices.
• Advanced knowledge of data streaming, batch processing, and data transformation.
• Ability to translate business processes into functional specifications and documents.
• Solid communication skills across business and technology domains.
• Experience with SDLC methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
• Cloud experience, preferably with AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, maintain, and debug applications and systems for data solutions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, architecture, security, privacy, and regulatory teams to define scalable data capabilities.
• Ensure delivery of features into production within scope and budget while balancing technical debt.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide technical guidance across teams.
