Job summary

Orvia Underwriting is seeking a Senior Portfolio Management Actuary to design and own the portfolio management capability across diverse P&C lines in Europe. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of actuarial, underwriting and carrier management, requiring strong collaboration with underwriting, finance, and technology teams.

Qualifications

• Qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent) with 8+ years in a P&C environment.
• Strong understanding of portfolio management frameworks and driving underwriting performance.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining P&C performance management processes for commercial/specialty lines.
• Experience onboarding rating tools into digital PAS application engines is a plus.
• Experience across multiple European insurance markets is a plus.
• Experience with Python/SQL and WTW software (EMBLEM / Radar / ResQ).

Responsibilities

• Design and build portfolio monitoring KPIs and frameworks across multiple lines of business.
• Conduct exposure and mix analyses to understand portfolio movements and drivers.
• Perform claim frequency/severity analyses and develop pricing view of ultimate loss ratio.
• Assist with digitisation of rating tools with underwriting and technology teams.
• Engage with carrier partners on performance topics and portfolio management.
