Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Platform Architect 2 to drive infrastructure design across applications and platforms. You will generate high-level requirements with cross-functional teams and produce technical documents to guide architecture decisions.

You will lead ongoing architectural work, ensure artifacts stay current, and evaluate new technologies to meet security, scalability, and availability standards, partnering with global teams.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of network, operating system principles and web middleware.
• Advanced knowledge of load balancers and web application firewalls
• Working knowledge of database technologies
• Working knowledge of cloud technologies
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work across geographies
• Willingness to learn and take on challenging opportunities
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and network micro-segmentation
• Experience with YAML-based deployments

Responsibilities

• Generating requirements with architects, engineers, and users to ensure high-level requirements are met.
• Producing Technical Architecture Documents (TADs) and models to keep stakeholders aligned.
• Maintaining architectural artifacts in an up-to-date state.
• Resolving internet architectural and operational issues impacting global infrastructure and product availability.
• Researching and evaluating new technologies for Mastercard’s infrastructure.
• May lead regional projects including planning, time and cost control, and resource utilization.
• Implementing and supporting internet infrastructure components per standards and best practices.
• Performing problem diagnosis, capacity planning, and configuration management for internet components.
• Ensuring system stability and forward compatibility by monitoring production execution.
