Job summary

Mercury in Dublin is seeking a Senior Planner to lead the planning for complex engineering and construction projects.

You will own the full scheduling lifecycle using Primavera P6, drive KPI trends, and support EVM implementations across projects to ensure robust programme controls.

This role requires 5+ years in planning for large-scale projects, a strong technical mindset, and the ability to work with site teams to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years planning and project controls experience within large-scale construction, engineering, or mission-critical environments.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle from design through handover and close-out.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, with the ability to develop and analyze detailed programmes.
• Strong capability in programme logic development, DCMA metrics, construction sequencing, and baseline control.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management, schedule variance analysis, milestone tracking and recovery planning.
• Strong reporting and analytical skills with clear programme dashboards and progress narratives.
• Ability to work with stakeholders and communicate effectively under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project or portfolio of projects as senior planning authority across the full scheduling lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with planning standards and contractual requirements while improving templates and deliverables.
• Report schedule health, KPI trends, tool usage, and provide feedback to management.
• Develop and maintain schedules using Primavera P6 for pre-construction, construction and commissioning phases.
• Perform milestone projections, critical path analysis, and scenario forecasting for management and clients.
• Lead EVM implementation and ongoing management where required.
• Audit site progress and verify measurements against schedule, ensuring accuracy.
• Prepare tender schedules and support bidding with narrative and risk commentary.
• Support weekly lookahead planning and resource loading to improve plan reliability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and development of planning tools and training.
