Job summary

Optimus Search is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading engineering contractor in Dublin. The role focuses on coordinating detailed construction programmes for data centre and mission-critical projects, ensuring on-time delivery and close collaboration across mechanical, electrical and construction disciplines.

You will develop schedules, monitor progress, manage risks and report milestones to project managers, engineers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in planning or scheduling within construction or engineering.
• Experience on data centres or complex technical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and multidisciplinary delivery.
• Experience with mechanical/electrical construction teams.
• Experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software would be advantageous.

• Develop, maintain and update detailed construction project schedules.

• Monitor progress against baseline programmes and identify potential delays.
• Work closely with project managers, construction managers, engineers and subcontractors.
• Prepare progress reports, programme updates and lookahead schedules.
• Support project recovery plans and identify opportunities to improve programme performance.
• Coordinate construction activities with commissioning and handover milestones.
• Attend project planning meetings and communicate programme risks to key stakeholders.
• Support the wider project controls team in maintaining accurate and reliable project information.

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading engineering contractor working on major data centre and mission-critical construction projects in Dublin.

This is an opportunity to join an established project team delivering complex, technically demanding construction programmes for major clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating project schedules, monitoring construction progress and supporting the successful delivery of multidisciplinary engineering works.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience working alongside mechanical and electrical construction teams.
• Ability to manage complex programmes and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software would be advantageous.
