Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Engineer (Physical Security) to lead the growth of secure-by-design capabilities within the Systems Engineering and Assurance discipline. You will apply security governance, risk assessments and threat analysis to transport projects, including rail, with a focus on proportionate, innovative security solutions.

The role requires experience in UK rail security, professional memberships and a strong client-facing advisory capability.

Qualifications

• Proven physical security experience with commercial acumen and ability to lead capability development.
• Experience in security governance, risk assessments and defining security strategy.
• Proficient in secure-by-design approaches, threat analysis and security design integration.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the Systra way for secure-by-design processes across projects.
• Engage with clients to understand security risks and shape security strategy for programmes.
• Design and manage physical security across portfolios, delivering proportionate solutions.
• Advise on Security overlay per frameworks such as RIBA, Network Rail Security Assurance and SIDOS.
• Review security deliverables to ensure compliance with established delivery processes.
• Support development of physical security capability across the Systra group and act as UK focal point.
• Upskill peers in Physical Security processes, strategy and requirements.
• Prepare technical deliverables and assist in tenders and expressions of interest.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental legislation (CDM).
• Respond effectively to project-related correspondence.
