Job summary

European Tech Recruit are working with a leading semiconductor company in the Cork area seeking a Physical Design Engineer to join a global team. You will drive physical implementation from floorplan to GDS for premium-tier SOCs in bleeding-edge technologies.

Responsibilities include working from floorplan to GDS, developing flows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on timing closure, power optimization and PPA improvements. 4+ years of PD experience required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience in Physical Design.
• Knowledge of the whole PD flow from netlist to GDS (Floorplanning, Power planning, Placement/CTS/Routing).
• Experience with 10nm and below technologies.
• Strong understanding of STA and timing closure, congestion, routing and power.
• Power analysis and power integrity understanding.
• Physical Verification and DRC closure knowledge.
• Automation skills in Perl and TCL to support PD flows.

Responsibilities

• Work on physical implementation from floorplan to GDS for high-speed designs.
• Participate in researching new methodologies to push PPA limits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on timing, power optimization and physical implementation.
• Research industry trends in physical design to align with best practices.
• Perform complex analyses using statistics to track benchmarks and identify issues.
• Coordinate with teams to meet targets and ensure designs meet high standards.
