Job summary

Zoom is seeking a software engineer to design and develop scalable, secure services using PHP and Laravel. You will build modular front-end and back-end systems, maintain real-time data feeds and APIs, and optimize code for performance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in design discussions, code reviews, and detailed analysis to ensure high-quality delivery. 5+ years in software development for hosted SaaS is preferred, with hybrid/remote work options.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in PHP and Laravel framework; HTML with React exposure.
• Minimum 5 years in software development for hosted web apps/SaaS.
• Strong OO fundamentals, unit testing, design patterns, and web app design principles.
• Knowledge of database design, performance, and SQL.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
• Ability to contribute to feature planning and system design discussions.
• Knowledge of React & React Native; AWS Lambda or Firebase; OAuth/JWT; Redis; Jest/PHPUnit/Selenium advantageous.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure backend services using PHP and Laravel.

• Maintain code efficiency, robustness, and performance through libraries and refactoring.
