Job summary

Oxford Global Resources is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to support multiple automation projects at the Limerick manufacturing facility. The role is hands-on and project-focused, requiring strong pharmaceutical commissioning experience and technical leadership across automation systems.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Rockwell and Siemens PLCs, BAS/QBAS environments, and system integration.

Qualifications

• Pharma facility startup experience including commissioning and qualification activities.
• Hands-on experience with Rockwell and Siemens PLC platforms.
• Good understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and qualified BAS environments.
• Experience overseeing and technically reviewing work performed by automation or systems integration vendors.
• Knowledge of Ignition SCADA and industrial historian platforms.
• Strong GMP manufacturing environment understanding.
• Knowledge of system integration architectures, OPC communications, and industrial networking.
• Familiarity with qualification documentation, FAT/SAT execution, and change management processes.
• Experience working alongside CQV and validation teams.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple automation projects across the manufacturing site.
• Implement and review modifications to Rockwell and Siemens PLC control systems.
• Provide technical support during commissioning and qualification activities for new process equipment and automation systems.
• Review, witness, and approve work completed by third-party automation and integration vendors.
• Support system integration activities between process equipment, SCADA, and site data systems.
• Provide technical guidance on Building Automation Systems (BAS) and qualified BAS (QBAS) functionality.
• Troubleshoot automation and integration issues during project execution.
• Support change control, testing, and GMP documentation where required.
• Collaborate with engineering, validation, CQV, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
