Job summary

Zurich Insurance Europe AG, Ireland Branch, is seeking a Senior Personal Product Underwriter with a primary focus on Personal Motor and Light Commercial Vehicles. Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in underwriting with a focus on motor products.
• CIP/MDI/ACII or working towards professional qualifications.
• Excellent technical insurance knowledge in Personal Motor Insurance.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of Zurich products/policy wordings.
• UAL 3 Motor Minimum.

Job Summary

Zurich Insurance Europe AG, Ireland Branch is looking for a Senior Personal Product Underwriter.

Reporting to the Product Underwriting Manager, the Senior Personal Product Underwriter with a specific focus on Private Car and Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) will be required to work closely with internal operations, such as Pricing, Product Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Sales & Distribution and Broker Partners and ensure all areas of the business are managed according to the Zurich Way of Underwriting and within delegated authority levels.

In addition, the role will increasingly leverage data and portfolio analytics (in partnership with Underwriting Analytics and other teams) to support evidence‑based decision making and improve portfolio performance.

This role may be available part-time or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

Your Role

Asa Senior Personal Product Underwriter your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

• Responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to the following:
• Support LOB head on all plan delivery tasks
• Review Performance KPI’s and Metrics and reporting to various internal stakeholders on trends, risks, opportunities.
• Regular monitoring of portfolio mix to identify risks and opportunities and communicate same to various stakeholders.
• Managing referrals from Underwriting operations
• Managing UAL Uplift with Operations
• Managing key broker and MGA relationship proactively and independently
• Building relationships with and managing various Internal & External Stakeholders
• Implement agreed technical standards, controls, practices and procedures, thereby maintaining underwriting discipline.
• Act as PL Product lead/Product Owner on various key business projects and support other projects on ad-hoc basis
• Support other areas in the Personal Lines Product Underwriting function e.g. Home
• Proactively contribute ideas and work for the development of new or enhanced propositions based on technical, customer and distributor insights
• Adhere to Central Bank compliance standards of operating.
• Demonstrate high level of Quality Assurance and risk identification in all elements of the underwriting process
• Ensure any issues arising are dealt with in accordance with Zurich standards and that where appropriate issues escalated in a timely fashion
• Maintain Underwriting Records in accordance with regulatory /statutory and internal requirements

Your Skills & Experience

As a Senior Product Underwriter your skills and qualifications will include:

• 5 years plus experience in underwriting with a specific focus on motor products
• Holds or is working towards relevant professional qualifications i.e. CIP, MDI, ACII
• Excellent technical insurance knowledge, including specific knowledge in Personal Motor Insurance
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent knowledge of Zurich products/policy wordings
• UAL 3 Motor Minimum
• Experience in home underwriting will be an advantage
