Job summary

Stryker Ireland is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer for a 23-month fixed-term contract in Cork to support new product development and sustainment within the Joint Replacement Division. The role emphasizes collaboration with global packaging vendors to create robust, regulation-ready packaging for orthopaedic implants and instruments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 2+ years of work experience.
  • Medical device industry experience.
  • Packaging design development experience.
  • Functional knowledge of design controls and industry standards in packaging design (ISO 11607, ASTM, ISTA).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global packaging vendors to develop packages for orthopaedic implants and instruments.
  • Ensure designs are compatible with packaging equipment across Stryker's global sites.
  • Manage design control creation through NPDP, use internal procedures for package development, conduct feasibility testing, iterate as needed.
  • Conduct design verification and validation testing and document results.
  • Author test protocols and reports; build the design history file and operate within Stryker’s quality system.
  • Support regulatory submissions with required deliverables and assist projects from inception to launch.
