The sterile packaging product development team at the Joint Replacement Division is a highly visible function which is critical to the overall success of the implant product launch. Requirements for sterile packaging are evolving and becoming more stringent and as a result, the role of a packaging engineer provides exciting challenges for problem solvers and those who thrive in a fast paced, matrix environment. As such, the packaging engineer collaborates closely with their technical SME, implant product development, operations, vendors, commercial, and program management to deliver on-time, robust, safe and effective packaging solutions. The sterile package needs to meet the requirements of industry and regulatory standards and just as important, you, as the designer, needs to anticipate and meet the needs of the end users in the surgical theatre.
