Job summary

Allied Health/Nursing in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, seeks a Senior Occupational Therapist to lead person-centred assessments and tailored interventions for individuals with intellectual disabilities, aiming to promote independence and meaningful community participation.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop care plans, supervise colleagues, and contribute to service development while upholding professional standards and accurate records.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Registration, or eligibility for CORU registration.
• Minimum 3 years' post-qualification clinical experience (Senior Grade).
• Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical assessment and care-planning skills.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently within a wider clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive OT assessments for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Develop and implement individualised intervention plans to promote independence.
• Assess functional abilities and identify supports, equipment and environmental adaptations.
• Support development of daily living skills, sensory regulation and meaningful engagement.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers and MDT.
• Contribute to individual support plans and multidisciplinary reviews.
• Promote person-centred care, inclusion and participation in the community.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with professional standards.
• Provide clinical guidance and support to colleagues and contribute to service development at Senior Grade level.
