Job summary

Elite Talent Hub represents a leading acute hospital in Limerick seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This permanent role reports to the Director of Nursing and offers CPD support, pension, and career progression.

The ADON will provide strategic leadership, oversee nursing services, and ensure high-quality, patient-centred care while maintaining compliance with NMBI requirements and audit standards.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible for registration with NMBI in the General Nurse Division.
• Minimum 6 years' post-registration nursing experience, with 2 years in CNM1/CNM2 level in an acute setting.
• Post-registration qualification NFQ Level 8+ in healthcare or management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and clinical leadership for nursing and related services.
• Manage assigned areas efficiently while maintaining high standard of patient care.
• Participate as a senior nurse manager in hospital services management.
• Evaluate patient pathways and optimise the patient journey.
• Plan resources and workload to support service delivery.
• Liaise with stakeholders on patient flow initiatives and service planning.
• Ensure NMBI requirements and modern standards of clinical nursing are met.
