Job summary

Stelfox Limited is seeking a Senior Web Backend Developer (Node.js) on a daily rate contractor basis. The role is hybrid and focuses on building scalable server-side logic, APIs, and data-driven services for complex environments.

You will design secure APIs, work with cloud platforms (Azure), and contribute to production reliability while collaborating with architects and project managers. Strong Node.js, JS/TS, and database skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Back End Developer in complex environments.
• Strong Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript expertise for server-side development.
• Proficiency with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and caching (Redis).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain server-side apps and microservices using Node.js.
• Architect and manage secure APIs (REST/GraphQL) for web and mobile.
• Integrate with third-party suppliers, legacy systems, and internal data sources.
• Maintain database schemas (SQL/NoSQL) to support data-driven apps.
• Ensure production stability and security; perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects on data governance and cloud standards.
• Provide technical leadership during sprint planning and refinement.
• Support the Programme Manager with visibility on progress and backend dependencies.
