Job summary

Kerry County Council seeks a Network Management Support Engineer to lead road signing and delineation programmes and other network activities in the South West Region. You will manage teams, coordinate with TII and Local Authorities, and ensure timely delivery and safety compliance on national roads.

The role reports to the NRO Senior Engineer and requires strong budget, procurement and stakeholder liaison skills within a public sector setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Network Management Support activities and programmes of work in the South-West Region, ensuring delivery of programme objectives and targets, and provision of regular reporting to the Senior Engineer, Kerry NRO and TII Network Management Engineering Inspector.
• Manage the Road Sign Maintenance and Delineation Maintenance Contracts in the South West Region to ensure they perform to required levels and provide good value for money.
• Oversight of Road Signing and Delineation contracts in the South-West Region, ensuring timely delivery within budgets and adhering to quality standards.
• Monitor safety aspects of these Contracts and ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation for internal operations and external contractors on live high-speed national roads.
• Procurement of Contractors on Signing and Delineation programmes of work and management of related governance procedures and standards.
• Prepare budgets for Network Management activities in the South-West and monitor costs against budget to meet commitments.
• Procurement, appointment and management of support services from Consulting Engineers.
• Liaise with Local Authorities, other National Roads Offices and Consulting Engineers for delivery and timely implementation of Network Management programmes.
